Ubisoft Postpones Assassin's Creed Shadows, Adjusts Financial Targets, and Returns to Steam

Following the softer-than-expected launch of Star Wars Outlaws, Ubisoft has adjusted its financial targets, postponed Assassin's Creed Shadows to give its development teams more time to polish it, and announced the return of day-one releases on Steam. "We are departing from the traditional Season Pass model," the company added.

At a meeting of its Board of Directors, Ubisoft updated its financial guidance for fiscal years 2024-25. The company now expects net bookings to be approximately €1.95 billion and non-IFRS operating income and free cash flow to be approximately breakeven. For the second quarter of fiscal year 2024-25, the company now expects net bookings to be in the range of €350 million to €370 million, Star Wars Outlaws was released during this period. In the first quarter, net bookings were €290m. The revised targets mainly reflect decisions made for Assassin's Creed Shadows and the weaker than expected launch of Star Wars Outlaws.
