Crytek to Release Hunt: Showdown 1896 in Mid-August

Frankfurt-based videogame developer, publisher, and technology provider Crytek has revealed Hunt: Showdown 1896, the next chapter of the PvPvE extraction shooter Hunt. It will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 15 August 2024. This will see the retirement of the old title (Hunt: Showdown) on last generation platforms. It will no longer be playable on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As mentioned in Autumn 2023, all console players will automatically receive an upgrade to the new game on their next generation counterpart at no additional cost, including all previous purchases and progress. "For players that haven't yet made the upgrade, rest assured your Hunt legacy will be ready and waiting as soon as you choose to make the switch to PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X|S," Crytek promises. Console gamers will also see native 4K & 60fps support on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and 60fps and 2k on Xbox Series S, all in HDR.
