Sony Takes Concord Offline, Suspends Sales and Offers Refunds After Just Two Weeks
After a slow start, Sony Interactive Entertainment is pulling the plug. Concord, a 5v5 hero shooter designed as a Game as a Service, will no longer be sold. All buyers will receive refunds. The game will not be re-released until it can "reach more people".
The hero shooter Concord, released by Firewalk Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment on 23 August 2024, is no longer sold, either on PC or on PlayStation 5. The game's servers will also be taken offline on 6 September. Refunds are being offered to all purchasers. "However, while many qualities of the experience resonated with players, we also recognize that other aspects of the game and our initial launch didn't land the way we'd intended. Therefore, at this time, we have decided to take the game offline beginning September 6, 2024, and explore options, including those that will better reach our players," says Ryan Ellis, Game Director at Firewalk Studios.
