PlayStation Portal Remote Player Gets Cloud Streaming (Beta)
Sony Interactive Entertainment has launched the beta of cloud streaming on the PlayStation Portal remote player. PlayStation Plus Premium members can take part in the test and stream over 120 selected games directly from the servers.
The PlayStation Portal remote player, the peripheral for PlayStation 5 released in November 2023, has received a new system software update that improves the audio experience and adds beta support for cloud streaming. PlayStation Plus Premium members will be able to participate in the beta and stream over 120 selected PS5 games from the PlayStation Plus games catalogue directly from the servers - including Dave the Diver, Ghost of Tsushima, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Monster Hunter Rise and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. This works even when no PS5 console is connected. The beta offers streaming at up to 1080p/60 FPS (depending on game and connection quality) and PlayStation Plus cloud storage with up to 100GB of storage.
