The first Gamevasion powered by DreamHack took place under its new name in the halls of the Hannover Exhibition Centre from 5 to 8 December. The gaming festival kicked off with 18,000 visitors, including gamers, tabletop enthusiasts, artists and cosplayers.
At the opening ceremony, the Lord Mayor of Hannover, Belit Onay, Michael Rose, Head of Protocol at Deutsche Messe AG, and Michael Haenisch, CEO of organiser Freaks 4U Gaming, shared the main stage as part of the political opening. "Having Gamevasion as a guest is great for the city, there's always something new, there's a good atmosphere,' said Lord Mayor Onay during the press conference. "As far as gaming and esports are concerned, we in Hannover are very sustainable thanks to our associations and initiatives, and Gamevasion is one of the highlights of the year here."
