Sustainable Games Alliance Develops Standard for Games Industry to Comply with Regulations
The newly founded Sustainable Games Alliance (SGA) aims to help the games industry take a leading role in sustainability. In an interview with GamesMarkt, Chairman and Co-Founder Jiri Kupiainen reveals why this is an economic necessity, at the latest when the games industry is affected by regulations such as the European Sustainability Reporting Standards and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
The Sustainable Games Alliance (SGA) is organised as a cooperative. This means that the organisation is owned by the member companies, is set up as a not-for-profit company and can accept new members at any time, both companies and associations, who participate via a cooperative share. SGA is led by Managing Director and co-founder Maria Wagner, who is well known in the German industry for her Games Forest Club initiative. The chairman of SGA is Jiri Kupiainen, who is also a co-founder of the cooperative.
